This year has been a strange time, filled with lots of uncertainty and many cancelled plans, but one thing’s for sure; we can still look forward to celebrating Halloween and Christmas! That being said, we have noticed the increasing popularity of people decorating for the festivities earlier, and it’s more extravagant than previous years – which we absolutely LOVE to see! One of our mottos is, ‘never underestimate the power of fairy lights and decorations to share some joy!’
We have put together a few of our favourite spooky Halloween looks, sent in from a bunch of our Festive fans, from scary hanging skeletons to witches hats filled with twinkly fairy lights, check them out below.
One particular trend we have noticed popping up on social media over the last couple of weeks, is the “Halloween tree”, decorated with fairy lights, baubles and a range of different spooky ornaments. The best part about this trend is that most of us already have the items needed to create one of these, tucked away within our Christmas decorations up in the loft. You can all guarantee the first thing we did when we saw this trend is round up the Halloween coloured Christmas decorations from our stock, and got cracking on creating our very own Halloween tree. As we have shown you in the video above, it’s super simple to make your own Halloween themed tree. Most of us already have a range of Christmas baubles that would work for this DIY, so you’re already halfway there to creating your spooky tree! Once you’ve added the baubles and LED fairy lights of your choice – we opted for a choice of warm white twinkling cluster lights and orange LED wire lights – you can go ahead and add other seasonal ornaments. You could use mini pumpkins, ghoulish cut-outs or drawings like we have, or fake eyeballs, spiders and webs… the possibilities are endless.
A Halloween tree is such a fun way to #ShareTheJoy this spooky season, and judging by the hashtag #HalloweenTree on Instagram having over 30 thousand uses and counting, we expect this to be a trend that continues to grow year on year… maybe we should do an outdoor Halloween tree next year?!
