Christmas Storage Hacks with Dee Campling

This Christmas we have sought expert advice from interior stylist and Instagrammer, Dee Campling to give us her tips and tricks for a stress free, fabulous, Christmas! This week is the final installation, and we are talking all things storage. The fun is over, it’s time to pack away the tree and the lights and all the decorations. It may be a sad and time-worthy process, but we are on hand with a couple of tips to help bring ease to this manic time. Without further ado, keep reading:

Need a simple storage solution to keep your lights from getting tangled year after year? Dee explains below how she uses only a small piece of cardboard to create the perfect fairy light storage! We also offer this light reel which is a sturdier alternative to the cardboard. An extra layer of protection is to add a layer of tissue paper or two around the cardboard. This will help protect them whilst they’re in storage.

We’ve all seen those super organised decoration boxes that have drawers that pull out and designated areas, but they can cost a fortune! Our top tip, on a budget, is to use a clear plastic box with an air tight lid. A super easy method of storing Christmas baubles so that they don’t get broken and are all kept neat and tidy ready for decorating your tree again next year!

Clear plastic boxes are perfect since the see-through design means you can find things quickly when you come to get them back out next Christmas.

If you’ve tried any of these tips, or have some of your own you’d like to add, then let us know in the comments section, and don’t forget to share your images on Twitter or tag us on Instagram, making sure you use our hashtag #ShareTheJoy – and we’ll share our favourites!

Thank you for following our Christmas blog series with Dee Campling. We hope you all had a magical Christmas and we wish you a happy new year!
