Club Tropicana! Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone! Check out our inspiration for ways to embrace summer brights in your home or garden for a taste of the tropics.
Parrots, palm trees, pineapples and a trusty flamingo! What do all these things have in common you ask? They’re all iconic figures of the Tropicana trend, which is the biggest thing to hit interior design in 2016.
Our good friends at Your Home magazine have highlighted this fashion for all things fiesta in their latest edition, with a feature on how to inject this totally tropical style into your garden or outdoor space. Included in their article are some of our very own outdoor multi-coloured party festoons, which obviously we agree are the perfect thing to get the party started!
Toucan Play at that Game
Not ones to be left out of a good trend alert, especially this festival frenzy (Festive is in our name after all!) we’ve decided to share with you a few hand selected ideas to help inspire and create this carnival of colour, whether you choose to recreate this style indoors or out. So sit back, relax, grab a mojito or two and read on to be inspired!
Nothing says Tropics like an explosion of colour; think hot pinks, vibrant reds and oranges and the lush green tones of fresh limes and cool palm trees. Depending on how committed you are to embracing this trend, you can go all out raving Rio or you could give a subtle nod to the theme by adding accents of these colours to the space.
Small Spaces and Petite Places
If your backyard is a little on the bijou side, don’t worry, there are ways you can add hints of paradise and to great effect. One of the easiest and most effective ways to tiki-fy your terrace or tiny room is with the addition of brightly coloured paper lanterns. Hung from literally anywhere, they instantly transform an area into a feature fiesta and get people in the party mood.
All That’s Missing is the Sea
It’s so easy to get this trend right, as long as you keep your focus on colour, colour, colour, you can fully adopt the spirit of the islands and pretend you’re basking in the Bahamas! Be brave, don’t be afraid to mix and match colours and prints, the more eclectic the better; the brighter the better! You don’t have to invest in large, statement pieces of furniture to get the look, simply accessorise with sizzling soft furnishings and décor like brightly coloured cushions and lights.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this post and that it’s given you the inspiration, motivation and confidence to embrace this festival of fiesta fun! As always, we love to see your pictures, so if you’ve adopted this trend, let us know by sharing your photos on Twitter or tag us on Instagram, make sure you use the hashtag
